okatsecanyon.com is a visitor guide to Okatse Canyon, the Okatse (Kinchkha) waterfall and the protected sites around Kutaisi in western Georgia. It is written for people planning a visit: how to get there, what the route involves, what it costs and when it is open.
Who manages the canyon
Okatse Canyon is a natural monument managed by Georgia’s Agency of Protected Areas, part of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. The agency runs the visitor centre in Gordi, sells the tickets and sets the opening hours and safety rules. This site is not run by the agency and does not speak for it. The agency’s own pages are apa.gov.ge and nationalparks.ge.
Where the facts come from
- Fees, opening hours, the route and the rules come from the Agency of Protected Areas’ published pages, and were checked in November 2026. Where two of its pages differ (for example on summer closing times), we show both.
- Road distances are the shortest routes along the mapped road network between the named points; straight-line distances are measured between the same coordinates. Where the agency publishes its own distance (Khoni to Gordi, 21 km), we use it and it agrees with ours.
- Maps are drawn for this site from open map data, credited on each map.
Corrections
If a fee, an opening time or a road has changed, please tell us at info@okatsecanyon.com and we will check it against the agency and correct the page.
