Okatse Canyon tickets, entrance fee and opening hours

One ticket covers the forest path, the hanging walkway and the platform. It is sold at the visitor centre in Gordi, and the price depends on your age and on whether you live in Georgia.

Fees, hours and distances checked November 2026.

The entrance fee

The fees below are the ones published by the Agency of Protected Areas, which manages Okatse Canyon, checked November 2026:

VisitorTicket
Foreign adults (18 and over)30 GEL
Georgian citizens and residents, 18 and over16 GEL, ID required
Ages 6 to 185.50 GEL
Under 6free, but not allowed on the canyon trail
One teacher with a school or student groupfree

The agency’s English-language fee page showed the earlier, lower rates in November 2026; the figures above are from its Georgian fee page.

Combined tickets

Combined ticketForeign adultsGeorgian citizens and residents
Okatse Canyon + Kinchkha waterfall40 GEL22 GEL
Martvili Canyon + Okatse Canyon + Kinchkha waterfall80 GEL38 GEL

These are the combinations on the Okatse Canyon fee page. Martvili Canyon’s fee page lists the same three-site ticket at 90 GEL for foreign adults, so ask which price applies when you buy.

Bring the ID if you are paying the residents’ rate: the agency’s rule elsewhere in its parks is that a reduced ticket without ID at the entrance means buying a standard one instead.

The ticket covers the whole route the agency describes: the 2,300 m stone path through the Dadiani forest park, the 780 m hanging walkway on the canyon wall, the panoramic platform and the 645 m path back to the checkpoint.

Opening hours

SourceHours
Agency fee page10:00 to 17:30, every day
Agency park portal, spring and summer10:00 to 18:00, every day
Agency park portal, autumn and winter10:00 to 17:00, every day

The two official pages differ by up to an hour. Plan on 17:00, the earliest closing time either gives: the route takes two to three hours, so arriving by 14:00 leaves room to walk it at an easy pace and to stop on the platform.

When the walkway closes

The agency does not allow walking in rainy or snowy weather, for safety. This is the closure that catches visitors out, because it is decided on the day. If rain is forecast, or there is snow on the ground in winter, call the visitor centre on +995 595 03 60 47 or +995 595 80 54 55 before you set off from Kutaisi.

The agency runs visits all year and calls April to October the active season.

At the visitor centre

The visitor centre in Zeda Gordi has a cafe, a souvenir shop, lockers and a car park. It is also where the walk starts, so leave anything heavy in a locker: the walkway has 989 metal steps on the agency’s count, and a large backpack is a nuisance on narrow stairs.

The other parks nearby, same agency

Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon are run by the same agency and are close enough to visit on the same day. Their published fees, for comparison (checked November 2026):

Ages 6 to 18 pay 5.50 GEL at Okatse and Martvili (Prometheus Cave’s fee page gives that rate to Georgian citizens and residents), and under-6s go free at all three. Martvili and Prometheus are open 10:00 to 17:30 every day on their fee pages.

The one-day route through all three sets out the order and the hours.

Questions visitors ask

Can I buy Okatse Canyon tickets online?
The Agency of Protected Areas publishes its fees but sells Okatse Canyon tickets at the visitor centre in Gordi. Buy yours there on arrival; the walkway checkpoint is further along the route.
Do children need a ticket?
Visitors aged 6 to 18 pay 5.50 GEL. Children under 6 enter free, but the agency’s notice says visitors must be over 6 to walk the canyon trail, so a family with a toddler can use the visitor centre and forest park but not the walkway.
What time does Okatse Canyon close?
The agency’s fee page gives 10:00 to 17:30, every day. Its park portal lists 10:00 to 18:00 in spring and summer and 10:00 to 17:00 in autumn and winter. Plan on 17:00: with a 2 to 3 hour route, arrive by 14:00 to walk it without hurrying.
Does the same ticket cover Kinchkha waterfall?
Not the standard ticket. The Okatse (Kinchkha) waterfall is a separate natural monument, and the canyon’s fee page sells a combined canyon and waterfall ticket: 40 GEL for foreign adults, 22 GEL for Georgian citizens and residents. A waterfall-only fee is not on the agency’s fee pages, so confirm it at the visitor centre.
